Best of luck to the West Offaly Lions U13 side who face a stronge Sligo side this week end in the Connacht cup final. The lads have been going strong in training and there hard work is paying off on the field and under the excellent guidance of Conor Galvin Padraig Clancy and the other people involved lets hope they bring more silverware back to the club this season. The match is on in Ballyhaunis R.F.C. at 3pm Sunday so your support would b greatly appreciated.

The first ever West Offaly lions u14 blitz took place in ferbane last saturday under wonderfull conditions. It was a great day with the sides involved displaying excellent rugby skills. All the matches very keenly competed with each side attacking well and defending just as good and when matters came to a close it was Buccaeers who were victorious beating Monivae in a very competitive final.

The west offaly lions u 14 team continued there development in this there first year together with a match against buccaneers.The match was played in the excellent facilities of Dubarry Park, Athlone on a cold saturday morning both teams contribuited well to a good overall game and although the lions won there is still a lot of work to be done on the training field. Michael Butler, Gerry Lyons and John Mannion had fine games in what was a good team effort
